Paula Corcoran

Paula Corcoran’s inspiration is her family and her community. A member of Eel Ground First Nation, Paula is also an Economic Development Officer for the community and an Entrepreneur. A wife and mother of two, Paula’s goal is to bring prosperity to her community by showcasing the local entrepreneurs and artists. She began working as an EDO in 2010 and is currently working toward her Technical Aboriginal Economic Developer Certificate through accredited university courses. As an Entrepreneur, Paula shares her love of fashion, décor, design and weddings in her business, Sugar and Spice Events and Décor, which she started in August 2011 with business partner and friend Amy MacTavish-Richard. She saw a need for this service in the Miramichi area and embarked on the adventure to be the ‘go-to’ shop of event planning and décor for all types of events from weddings to grand openings, birthdays, baby showers and everything in between. Paula also co-owns Natawe’g Business Services with Helen Ward-Wakelin, in which they help Aboriginal entrepreneurs achieve their business goals through mentoring, business plan writing, marketing and consulting. Outside of work, Paula enjoys time with family doing activities such as snow shoeing, swimming, baking and watching movies. She enjoys reading, shopping with friends and is a member of The Pound gym in Eel Ground for which she also does the Marketing & web design.
