Melanie Sturk

As Director, Attraction, Retention, and Transition, Melanie Sturk is responsible for the initiatives that encourage new workers, particularly those from underrepresented groups, to engage in mining careers that support the industry by enhancing workplace diversity. Melanie has managed and presented on multiple development and research projects, including Mining Essentials: A Work Readiness Training Program for Aboriginal Peoples, Lessons Learned: A Report on HR Components of Aboriginal Community and Mining Company Partnership Agreements and the MiHR Guide for Aboriginal Communities. Melanie sits on Women in Mining Canada’s Diversity Working Group, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada HR Committee, the CIM Diversity Committee, and the Mining Association of Canada’s Aboriginal Affairs Committee. Melanie holds a bachelor's degree in Recreation Management from Acadia University and a Professional Certificate in Management Skills from the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University.
