Stephanie Gardener
Administrative Assistant
Stephanie Gardener is the Administrative Assistant at Cando, she currently holds her BA in Native Studies from the University of Alberta.
Stephanie is a non-Native settler scholar with Greek and Scottish heritage, born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, located in the territory of Treaty 6; the traditional and ancestral territory of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux and Nakota Sioux. She also acknowledges that this territory is home to the Métis Settlements and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Regions 2, 3 and 4 within the historical Northwest Métis Homeland.
She has previously worked for the Government of Nunavut and comes to Cando with an extensive background in sales, hospitality and service. She specializes in Indigenous studies, settler colonialism, and British imperialist history while sharing a keen interest in community economic development.
Stephanie lives with her partner Murrisa and likes to spend time hiking, climbing, reading, and enjoying animated tv series and movies. She is very excited to join the team and start working towards her Technician Aboriginal Economic Developer (TAED) certification.
