Cando offers professional development and accredited training at our National Conference and Links to Learning events. These conferences are tailored to each region’s EDO preference/expressed need. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all accredited training will be held virtually and is open to Cando members located across Canada.

Competency 7: Project Management
ACED-180 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Instructor: Morgan Bamford, Contract Instructor, NVIT
Date: January 12, 2020
Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm MST
Number of Participants: Limited to 25!
Examines project management from a First Nations perspective, using models based on First Nations community projects. Experiential processes supplement theories for an introductory approach to managing projects, including finances, planning, scheduling and problem-solving. This course is targeted for those who are employed and/or have administrative experience.

The instructor: Morgan Bamford
Morgan is a contract instructor with Nicola Valley Institute of Technology, facilitating accredited training courses in the Aboriginal Community Economic Development program. He has a background in Municipal-Indigenous relations, Indigenous CED and organizational development. Morgan currently works in the municipal sector and co-owns a small CED research and consulting business. He is Board Chair of Volunteer Alberta, which advocates for the growth and development of the non-profit voluntary sector in the province.
Morgan holds an MBA in Community Economic Development from Cape Breton University and a Bachelor of Arts in Native Studies and Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Sport and Recreation from the University of Alberta. He is PAED (Professional Aboriginal Economic Developer) certified through Cando. He and his wife Jocelyn live in Edmonton, Alberta.
