Canadian Underserved Youth Forum, Edmonton AB

The goals of this forum include:
• exchanging information and knowledge on how current social policies and programs affect underserved youth;
•exchanging information and knowledge on best practices and lessons learned in policy and programming;
• identifying priorities for action in addressing the needs of underserved youth; and
• identifying potential collaborative projects and partnerships to promote action.

Who is invited:
• Underserved youth;
• Non-governmental organizations;
• Program planners and service delivery agencies working with youth; and
• Policy makers (e.g. federal, provincial, territorial and municipal government officials.

Priority demographics:
Youth who are or have been affected by:
- abuse (physical or sexual)
- disabilities
- GLBTTTQI issues
- mental health issues
- neglect and trauma
- substance use (illicit and licit)

Youth who have experience with:
- child welfare system
- conflict with the law
- dropping out of school
- homelessness
- unemployment
