Monica Diochon

Monica’s research focuses on how entrepreneurship emerges among individuals, organizations and communities. Her work, which has been local, national and international in scope, has dealt with issues that directly relate to the current project including: how entrepreneurship varies by gender as well as the social impacts of economic development in Aboriginal communities. She was drawn to the project by the opportunity to play a role in building indigenous research capacity and to gain further knowledge of entrepreneurship that can be used by women to more effectively "chart their own course” on the road to sustainable self-sufficiency.
