Cape Breton University LogoCando offered Competency training with Cape Breton University Unama’ki College. The Course was designed for Aboriginal EDOs, CEDOs, Band Managers, Chief and Council, and Leadership. The MIKM 3701 Special Topics in Indigenous Studies: Perspectives in Aboriginal Tourism is equivalent to Competency 7: Contemporary Aboriginal Economic Development Approaches and Issues and is worth 3 credits upon successful completion.

The training took place at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre in the Kluskap Room D. The instructor was Janice Esther Tulk, PhD, Senior Research Associate of the Purdy Crawford Chair in Aboriginal Business Studies. The face-to-face instruction was held on October 23 & 24, 2012 from 9:00 am -12:00 pm with online instruction continuing from October 25 – December 14, 2012.
