NIEEF Golf Tournament




CANDO's 7th Annual NIEEF Charity Golf Tournament was held at the Indian Lakes Golf Club located on the Enoch Cree Nation.  This golf course was an excellent place for delegates, stakeholders and guests to get together and network.  With a total of 108 golfers and 54 teams, the tournament was a great sucess and there is no doubt that golfers truly enjoyed the day.  After a plentiful dinner, prizes were awarded to this year's golf tournament winners in the following categories:

1st Place

  • Men's Team - Jeremy Makokis & Percy Potts
  • Ladies Team - Chelsea Vaughan & Charlene Joe
  • Mixed Team - Lacey Barhead & Mark Rain

2nd Place

  • Men's Team - Wyatt Morin & Dwight Sharphead
  • Ladies Team - Mary Ann Bailey & Lori Fornal
  • Mixed Team - Michelle Baptiste & Andrew Fox

3rd Place

  • Men's Team - Carter Yellowbird & David Boisvert
  • Mixed Team - Lisa Morin & Cardell Makokis

The NIEEF is a formally registered charity with the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. All profits from the golf tournament will be utilized for related education and training programs and projects in the following four areas:
- To provide scholarship to eligible recipients to further their education in the field of Aboriginal community economic development;
- To provide financial assistance for research projects that will lead to the development of Aboriginal economic development education materials for use in post-secondary institutions;
- To provide financial assistance to recipients to conduct community education on Aboriginal economic development initiatives through training workshops and seminars;
- To develop and offer seminars aimed at increasing awareness and creating a positive enviroment for Aboriginal economic development.
