Joe Carter
Joe Carter is a Member of the Onion Lake First Nation whom has recently been elected as a Councilor and is the President/CEO of Onion Lake Energy and its subsidiaries Beretta Pipeline and Construction. Joe also acts as an independent consultant specializing in Land & Natural Resources Development and Management and also consults within the Oil & Gas Industry. Joe’s educational background includes courses in Education at the University of Saskatchewan and University of Regina and has extensive experience in educational administration. As well, he has studied Business Management and Executive Management at the Banff School of Fine Arts and Financial Management at the Lakeland College in Lloydminster. Joe has also obtained training and experience in Environmental Impact Assessments for Oil & Gas and Forestry Industry.
Joe Carter is the founding Board
Member of Many Nations Financial Services (MNFS) and Many Nations
Benefit Co-operative (MNBC) and is still very actively involved as the
Chairman for MNFS & MNBC. The Chairman and the Board of Directors
for MNBC is currently re-developing the goals and objectives for a
sustainable co-operative governance structure that is more efficient
for our national participants. Part of the re-structuring process also
included developing a mission specific to the Co-op that addresses the
common vision of its Indigenous communities, to "Build the Largest
National Indigenous Economic and Information Network" in Canada.
Protecting the future of Indigenous people has always been a common
goal amongst indigenous communities, but the Board of Directors wanted
the Co-op to reflect the empowering of sharing and building
opportunities for Indigenous people, communities and future generations.
