Host Organization
Saskatoon Tribal Council
CANDO is excited to announce its partnership with the Saskatoon Tribal Council in hosting this year’s 13th Annual National Conference & AGM in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. On October 2nd to 5th, the Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC) will serve as host organization for CANDO’s National Conference & AGM; as host organization, they will work with CANDO to help ensure that the Saskatchewan region and people are appropriately represented at this year’s conference through the selection of local artists, speakers, presenters and culturally relevant themes.
The Saskatoon Tribal Council was established in February 1982 as an institution to assist the individual and collective governments of the First Nations in the Saskatoon area. Through the establishment of new programs and services supported by a solid economic development approach, the STC has achieved success and continues to strive to maintain the social, economic and political aspirations of each of the seven First Nations it represents: Kinistin Saulteaux Nation, Mistawasis First Nation, Muskeg Lake First Nation, Muskoday First Nation, One Arrow First Nation, Whitecap Dakota First Nation, and Yellow Quill First Nation. The STC is dedicated to creating a respectful environment that inspires and encourages innovation and leadership while building and strengthening partnerships with communities, individuals and organizations. This is the first time that CANDO has teamed up with the Saskatoon Tribal Council and we look forward to working with them to deliver an interesting and informative conference in October 2006!
