PAED Grandparent Process




The Grandparent Certification will be available until September 15, 2010. There are two options available for PAED Certification, which are the following:

Option 1: Individuals with 5+ years experience in Aboriginal Community Economic Development supplemented by a Degree;

Option 2: Individuals with 10+ years experience in Aboriginal Community Economic Development.

The field of Aboriginal economic development is an emerging field in Canada that promotes the growth of more sustainable communities. It seeks to build local skills and capacity to plan, design, control,

manage, and evaluate initiatives aimed at revitalizing Aboriginal communities. It lays the groundwork for new approaches in Aboriginal Community Economic Development. The benefits of being certified include:

  • Skills and expertise to give sound advice about economic development in Aboriginal communities
  • Ability to offer advice about capitalizing on economic opportunities
  • Achievement of a professional standard recognized in Canada
  • Recognition of your on-the-job experience
  • Ability to bring cultural values to your work environment
  • A good balance between theory and practical work
  • Potential of a higher salary and more senior responsibility
  • Recognition at the CANDO National Conference, web site and in N-Side News
  • EDO network association across the country - contacts, sharing, mentorship and networking

If you are interested in receiving the PAED Grandparent or TAED certification, we ask that you submit the required documentation.

The next CANDO Certification Process recognition ceremony is scheduled to take place during the 17th Annual CANDO National Conference & AGM in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The graduates who submit all documentation toward PAED Designation on or before September 15, 2010 will be invited to attend the ceremony.
