Our Values and Beliefs
While the Certification Process evolves, and the locations and ways to access courses increase, some things will always remain constant.
At CANDO we value:
- Communities and their people
- EDOs and the important work they do
- Life-long learning
- Those who support, and work in the field of Aboriginal economic development
- Diversity and differences
- A wide variety of ways to learn and acquire new skills
- Partnerships and collaborations
At CANDO we believe:
- Everyone should have access to education and learning opportunities
- The need is often greatest in the most isolated locations
- Isolation does not have to be a barrier to learning opportunities
- There is much to be gained from the past while preparing for the future
- Everyone learns and expresses their learning in different ways
- Learning is easier when others offer encouragement and support
- Previous experience is important and should be acknowledged
The Certification Process is a celebration of education and new ways to learn. It is meeting an expressed need, and meeting it in what we hope is a flexible and thoughtful way.
If you have any ideas that would help improve the Certification Process, or access to the Certification Process, please contact us and share your ideas. We too are learning as we go, and value your input cando@edo.ca
