I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, raised on the Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement and I am of First Nations descent from the Ermineskin Cree Nation. I obtained a Bachelor of Management degree from the University of Lethbridge in 1989. I also possess the Technician and the Professional Level Certification from CANDO.

Prior to working with CANDO, I was the CEO of Settlement Investment Corporation. I then moved on to facilitate and manage the Metis Settlements Economic Viability Strategy, which received international recognition for sustainable development. Recently, I managed and taught a self-employment program for the Metis Nation of Alberta. My volunteer work includes being appointed to the Alberta Water Council by the Metis Settlements General Council. I am the former CANDO Co-President and Director representing Alberta.

I am married to Nola Wanuch from the Enoch Cree Nation, and have three wonderful kids: Wendell, Natasha and Sydney, and three wonderful grandsons: Aiden, Nashua, and Taye.

I am from Keeseekoose First Nation in Saskatchewan, but consider Edmonton to be my home. I am a graduate from the University of Alberta - Bachelor of Education. Initially, I became involved with CANDO as a summer student about five years ago.

Since finishing school, I have spent sometime within the classroom teaching and I must say I enjoyed this experience. However, another opportunity arose - an opportunity to utilize my degree in a different area. I have been working within the Certification Process as the Education and Research Manger for the western region. Since then I find this field of work enjoyable as it involves an education and administrative aspect, which is the type of work I find most efficient. It allows me as well to continue my involvement with the organization and be a part of the CANDO team.

I am a First Nations woman from James Smith Cree Nation in Saskatchewan. Recently, I attained my Accounting Diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and I am returning to school this fall for the Business Accounting Applied Degree. My future goals are to complete a Bachelor Business Administration Degree in order to work in my community as a Certified General Accountant.

My background working with the Aboriginal community has opened many doors; CANDO has given me the opportunity to assist with planning their 16th Annual National Conference & Annual General Meeting. In this position, I will be able to apply my previous work experience to the projects while building relationships within the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community.

I am Cree-Metis and was born and raised in Edmonton . I have the pleasure of joining CANDO for my fourth summer as an administrative assistant. I currently live in the Edmonton area with my three daughters (Ebonee, Sydney and Hayley).

Recently I graduated from the Therapist Assistant program at Grant MacEwan College. Although my training is in the healthcare field I have found the skills that I have learned at CANDO to be most valuable in any of my endeavours. My hope is that in my success now and in the future I can be a positive role model for both my daughters and all aboriginal women to reach out for their goals and attain them.
